Gabriela lives in a remote part of Peru. Her village is on the foothills of the Andes. She looks after a small flock of sheep while her mother sells fruit in the market.

Gabriela follows her pet armadillo up into the mountains, she spots a lion.

The story becomes cat and mouse as Gabriela shows her bravery and ingenuity, using her beautiful cape in different ways, protecting her friend and having an epic adventure at the same time.
